About NPC

Today, the National Planning Commission (NPC), hosted delegates from Eswatini. The purpose of their visit was to understand the NPC’s role in fostering state business relations and strategies implemented in order to enhance competitiveness.
Representing the NPC was the Deputy Commissioner General for Advocacy and Communications, Ms. Keganele Malikongwa. In her delivery, she indicated that the NPCs mandate is to coordinate national strategy development, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation to achieve the national vision 2036. In the quest to achieve this, the involvement of non-state actors is pivotal in ensuring a multi sectoral approach to development planning.
Ms. Malikongwa further highlighted that the NPC coordinates two consultative structures that provide a platform for non-state actors to participate in the national development planning agenda, that is, the Thematic Working Groups (TWGs), whose objective is to ensure well-coordinated inter-ministerial partnerships, ensure efficiency in the use of resources and improve involvement of non-state actors in development planning.
The High Level Consultative Council (HLCC) is another structure that promotes public-private cooperation to facilitate a conducive environment for Doing Business towards the attainment of development results.
