About NPC

The National Planning Commission (NPC) recently conducted a series of Mall Activations across Gaborone in December 2024. The activations began at Game City Mall on 8th December, 2024; followed by Main Mall on 10th December, 2024; BBS Mall on 12th December, 2024; and Riverwalk Mall on 13th December, 2024. The final event took place at the Bus Rank on 20th December, 2024.
The purpose of these Mall Activations was to raise awareness of the NPC brand and its mandate among Batswana. The Activations also aimed to inform, educate, and sensitize the public about Vision 2036 and its strategic initiatives {including the National Transformation Strategy (NTS) and the 2nd Transitional National Development Plan (TNDP)}, as well as Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Africa Agenda 2063. Additionally, the Activations provided an opportunity to test the newly developed Vision 2036 and NDP Awareness Questionnaire, which will be officially rolled out in 2025.
The response from Batswana was overwhelmingly positive. While many may not yet be fully knowledgeable about Vision 2036, the National Development Plan process, and other strategic initiatives, there is a strong desire to learn more. It is also evident that Batswana are eager to contribute ideas on how to move the country forward and "Achieve Prosperity for All." We are hopeful that such valuable feedback will help improve our programming, thereby enhancing both the implementation and impact of these initiatives.
