NPC HOLDS STAFF WELFARE MEETING

Staff Welfare
The National Planning Commission (NPC) held a staff welfare meeting at the University of Botswana Auditorium. The objective of the meeting was to update staff on operational and welfare-related issues that relate to the effective delivery of NPC's mandate. When welcoming all to the meeting, the Assistant Commissioner General for National Strategy Delivery Coordination, Ms. Khumo Mogaetsho emphasized the importance of periodically holding staff welfare meetings, which she said provided a platform for management to engage with employees and offer them strategic direction and the opportunity to raise their own grievances. She therefore encouraged NPC staff to always be open and receptive to feedback. Continuing with the programme of the day, the Deputy Commissioner General for National Planning and Development, Mr. Kelapile Ndobano shared updates on current developments within the NPC, which included progress on the formulation of NDP12, ongoing public education and stakeholder engagement efforts to promote the mandate of NPC, and the envisaged National Customer Satisfaction Survey (a collaboration between NPC, Statistics Botswana and the Directorate of Public Service Management). NPC staff also took time to ask questions, raised their grievances and commented on shared updates. In closing, the Assistant Commissioner General for Monitoring and Evaluation, Ms. Modiegi Ngakane acknowledged the existing challenges. However, she urged NPC staff to remain committed and embrace change management. "Our collective effort and spirit of cooperation remains critical in creating a positive and productive work environment. The journey continues, and let's look after each other".
