HUMAN AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT TWG PROJECTS AND PROGRAMMES APPRAISAL WORKSHOP

The NPC hosted the Human and Social Development Thematic Working Group (TWG) projects and programmes workshop at Oasis Motel today. The Objective was to discuss the proposed projects and Programmes for consideration for Social Protection, Education and Skills Development, and Health and Wellness. The TWG is chaired by NPC Deputy Commissioner General, Ms. Keganele Malikongwa and co-chaired by Mr. Otsile Ditiro, the Coordinator of Botswana Council of Non-Governmental Organization (BOCONGO). In her opening remarks, Ms. Malikongwa emphasized the role of the TWG as an enabler in achieving the Sustainable Economic Development goals. She highlighted the necessity for the nation to be skilled, educated, and healthy, emphasizing that the selected projects and programmes for this TWG should be inclusive. She encouraged innovative thinking and alignment with the National Transformation Strategy, to transform the economy into a high-income economy by 2036. The anticipated conclusion of the activities sees complete development of the NDP12 draft (Volume 1 and 2).
