1.8 Billion People for Change: Botswana’s Commitment to Adolescents and Young People's Well Being

On Tuesday the 10th October 2023, NPC launched Botswana's National Commitment to Adoloscent and Young People's Well-Being. The Botswana National Commitment has been highlighted at the High Level SDG Summit, on the 19th September 2023, in New York, United States of America. His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Botswana, Dr. Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi demonstrated the country's pledge on the Commitment.

In his speech, His Excellency Dr. Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi emphasized the commitment was under the goals of the Global Forum for Adolescents, which is centered on having young people from around the world coming together to share experiences, ideas and aspirations for the future.

He also emphasized that Botswana is not Botswana without young people, whom he said, are the country's biggest selling card. He pointed out that the commitment is a world-wide campaign aimed at raising the voices of young people the world over.
